103 Mr. Foley asked the Minister for Social Welfare the number of persons in receipt of unemployment assistance or benefit in the areas of Tralee, Listowel, Ballybunion, Ballyheigue, Castleisland, Knocknagashal and Brosna, County Kerry, during May 1996; and the comparative figures for each of these areas in respect of each of the years from 1993 to 1995. Statistics on the numbers of unemployed people are compiled and published by the Central Statistics Office. Statistics are not held on the numbers of persons in receipt of unemployment assistance or benefit broken down into the areas listed by the Deputy. However, the number of persons on the live register in each of the Departments' local offices in County Kerry at the end of May for the years 1993 to 1996 is contained in the following table.
