Written Answers. - County Wicklow Vocational Education Committee.

Joe Jacob

Ceist:

192 Mr. Jacob asked the Minister for Education if she will ensure that formal written sanction will, as a matter or urgency, issue from her Department to the chief executive officer of County Wicklow vocational education committee in respect of two pre-fabricated units for Avondale Community College, Rathdrum, County Wicklow in view of the fact that there will be a substantial increase in enrolment figures in September 1996; if she will further ensure that this is effected immediately in order that the necessary planning permission can be secured and the classrooms put in place in time for recommencement of school activities in September 1996. [14047/96]

An application for funding towards the provision of temporary accommodation at Avondale Community College, Rathdrum, has been submitted to my Department.

Officials from the planning and building unit of my Department are currently considering this application in terms of enrolment, future viability and cost implications.
