213 Cecilia Keaveney asked the Minister for Education the current position in relation to the amalgamation of St. Joseph's boys' and St. Brigid's girls' schools; whether this amalgamation will be completed by September 1996; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [14182/96]
The chairman of the boards of management of the schools referred to by the Deputy has informed my Department that agreement has been reached locally on an amalgamation of these schools.
Arrangements are being made to have the school buildings inspected to see what improvements can be made to the boys' building, as an interim measure, to facilitate an amalgamation from September next.
