Vol. 467 No. 7

Written Answers. - Price Waterhouse Investigation.

Micheál Martin

Ceist:

217 Mr. Martin asked the Minister for Education the number of meetings she or officials from her Department had with personnel from Price Waterhouse prior to the commencement of the investigation into the 1996 leaving certificate art examination during the period of the investigation and during the period leading up to the circulation of the report to Members of Dáil Éireann; if she will make available the content and subject matter of these meetings; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [14222/96]

I did not have meetings with Price Waterhouse. Officials of my Department had a range of meetings with Price Waterhouse over the course of the period referred to by the Deputy. Many of the meetings were at the request of Price Waterhouse and a normal part of the process of consultation on such projects. Others were necessary to ascertain the progress of their investigation and to deal with issues such as publication arrangements.
