Payment of the pension commenced in June 1996 with retrospective effect to 1 May 1996.

Ceist:380 Mr. Finucane asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry when a REP scheme payment will be made to a person (details supplied) in County Limerick. [14187/96]
The person concerned applied for his second year payment under the REP scheme. However, under revised monitoring and control procedures implemented by my Department recently, compliance checks are required to ensure that farmers have completed the specific works outlined during the first year of the plan before second year payments can be made.
A compliance check will be carried out on the applicant's farm shortly and assuming all is in order payment will issue as soon as possible thereafter.

An application was received in this case on 12 April 1996 in the local FDS Office Limerick and certain matters still require clarification by the transferor. As soon as this is done the application will be processed with a view to payment.
