Vol. 467 No. 7

Written Answers. - Ballyshannon (Donegal) Garda Station.

Mary Coughlan

Ceist:

56 Miss Coughlan asked the Minister for Finance when a decision will be made with regard to a site for a new Garda station in Ballyshannon, County Donegal. [14255/96]

The Commissioners of Public Works' valuer recently visited Ballyshannon and inspected a number of sites that the Garda consider might be suitable for a new Garda station. These sites were not on the market at the time. However, it is understood that the owner of one of the sites is now prepared to dispose of it specifically for a Garda station. The Commissioners will arrange to have the site examined as soon as possible to determine its suitability and will also have to ascertain what consideration is being sought for it. Any other sites that become available will also be considered.
