176 Mr. Dempsey asked the Minister for Justice the reason there has been no further contact between a person (details supplied) in County Meath and her Departmental officials, who met with him in October 1994; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [14698/96]

I understand from correspondence from the Deputy that the person referred to in the question had made a complaint to the Garda Síochána Complaints Board.

As the Garda Síochána Complaints Board is independent of my Department in the exercise of its statutory functions any inquiries about complaints made to the board should be addressed to the board by the complainant himself or by his solicitor.
