As the Deputy is aware I made a lengthy statement to this House last Wednesday which set out in detail the preparations for, and the agenda and priorities of, the Irish Presidency. I have also written an introduction to the first edition of the press bulletin on the Irish Presidency of the European Union setting out Ireland's priorities for the Presidency. In addition I made a televised address together with President Santer on the occasion of the cultural event to celebrate the opening of our Presidency in Temple Bar last Monday. I also gave a number of interviews to domestic and international print and broadcast media on the subject of Ireland's Presidency.
