Written Answers. - Offences Against Public Order.
The Criminal Justice (Public Order) Act, 1994, created a number of offences relating to public disorder and loitering. I am informed by the Garda authorities that the Act is operating satisfactorily in this regard. Provisional figures for 1995 show that proceedings were instituted in respect of 10,209 offences under the Act.
