Vol. 468 No. 4

Written Answers. - Children with Disabilities.

Mary Wallace

Ceist:

240 Miss M. Wallace asked the Minister for Health if he will undertake in each health board area a study of the therapy needs of children with disabilities, which have not been met, similar to that completed by the South-Eastern Health Board in 1995. [15923/96]

Limerick East): As the Deputy is aware, the review group on physical and sensory disability is examining all aspects of service provision for people with physical or sensory disabilities. This will include examination of the existing provision of services and identification of unmet needs across all health board areas. It is my intention, following publication of the report, to ask health boards to prepare local plans for implementing the report based on a total assessment of needs across the services, including the therapy needs of children, in their areas.
