550 Mr. B. Smith asked the Minister for Education the current position regarding the provision of a second-level school in Kingscourt, County Cavan; when the project will proceed to the next stage of planning; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [16137/96]
The Deputy may be aware that I recently had a meeting with a deputation representing County Cavan Vocational Education Committee and Kingscourt Community Development Council at which the question of the provision of a second-level school in Kingscourt, County Cavan, was discussed.
Arising from the meeting, I directed the Planning Section of my Department to carry out a thorough review of the position, based on current enrolment and demographic data.
I expect that this review will be completed and a decision taken in the matter as soon as possible.
