Vol. 469 No. 3

Written Answers. - Dublin Land Dispute.

Seamus Brennan

Ceist:

118 Mr. S. Brennan asked the Minister for Education if her attention has been drawn to a dispute between her Department and South Dublin County Council regarding land at Tymon Road, Tallaght, Dublin 24, which was purchased several years ago for the construction of an all-Irish secondary school, but which currently has an entrance to Tymon Park on the site; her views on the possibility of this dispute being settled to allow the existing temporary all-Irish secondary school in the area to be accommodated on a permanent site; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [17208/96]

The site owned by the Department at Tymon Park, Tallaght, Dublin 24, has been designed as a suitable location for Coláiste de hÍde. I understand that the site is at present being used by the South Dublin County Council as an amenity area.

The Department and the County Dublin vocational education committee are negotiating with the county council with a view to ensuring that permanent accommodation is provided for the school as quickly as possible.
