58 Cecilia Keaveney asked the Minister for Health the reciprocal links which currently exist between Letterkenny General Hospital, County Donegal and Altnagelvin Hospital, Derry; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [17434/96]
Limerick East): At present, no formal reciprocal links exist between Letterkenny General Hospital, County Donegal and Altnagelvin Hospital, Derry in respect of the provision of acute hospital services. However, both hospitals provide back-up for each other in the event of a major accident.
A limited amount of pathology and radiology services which are not available in Letterkenny General Hospital are purchased from Altnagelvin Hospital.
