60 Kathleen Lynch asked the Minister for Health the number of people in the north Cork health district holding medical cards in each of the years 1995 and 1996; the number of dependants in this area who are subject to their parents' income limit, holding medical cards in each of the years 1995 and 1996; the percentage of the population nationally currently holding medical cards; and if he will make a statement on the matter. Limerick East): Responsibility for the determination of eligibility for medical cards in the north Cork area rests with the chief executive officer of the Southern Health Board. Accordingly, I have requested the chief executive officer of the Southern Health Board to furnish the information requested by the Deputy and to reply directly to her.
