37 Mr. D. Ahern asked the Minister for the Environment if he has considered the proposal forwarded to him by Dundalk Urban District Council in relation to the taxi and hackney situation in Dundalk, County Louth; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [17585/96]
A review of the Road Traffic (Public Service Vehicles) (Amendment) Regulations, 1995, was commenced in my Department last month. As part of that review licensing authorities were asked for their comments on the operation and application of the regulations. A number of authorities, including Dundalk Urban District Council, have submitted comments and these will be carefully examined in the context of the review.
