Written Answers. - Consumer Service Survey.
At the end of 1995 my Department commissioned an independent survey of social welfare customers and the public to assess perceptions of the quality of service provided by my Department. The first part of the survey, which related to the perceptions of people receiving social welfare payments, was carried out in February-March 1996 and the results were published at the end of May 1996.
The report of the second part, which relates to the perceptions of the public and which was carried out in May-June 1996, was submitted to my Department at the end of July 1996. It is currently being examined and, when this examination is complete as it will be soon, I will announce the findings.
