126 Mr. Power asked the Minister for the Environment the current position regarding the proposed sewerage scheme for the Prosperous area; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [17962/96]
The Upper Liffey Valley sewerage scheme involves the extension and upgrading of the sewage treatment plant at Osberstown and the connection of the towns of Kilcullen, Athgarvan and Prosperous to the extended plant. Planning costs for this scheme have recently been approved by the European Commission for Cohesion Fund assistance. The local authority have now been given approval to proceed with the appointment of consultants to act as client's representatives for the design and build contract for the plant.
