Vol. 470 No. 1

Written Answers. - Legislation Programme.

Liam Hyland

Ceist:

108 Mr. Hyland asked the Minister for Justice the Bills which she intends to introduce during this plenary session of Dáil Éireann. [18388/96]

The Deputy may be aware that on 18 September the Government Chief Whip published details in relation to the Government's legislative programme. The Justice Bills expected to be published this session were listed as the Sixteenth Amendment of the Constitution Bill, an outline of the legislation which would be introduced should the amendment be passed, a bail Bill and a children (juvenile justice) Bill. The Amendment of the Constitution Bill has been published and the outline legislation relating to it has also been made available. I also intend to introduce legislation on arms decommissioning in the present session. In his statement the Government Chief Whip made it clear that other Bills may become available for publication but they cannot be specified at this stage.
