162 Mr. E. O'Keeffe asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry the reason for the delay in dealing with an appeal by a person (details supplied) in County Cork regarding the 1995 suckler cow premium scheme; and if his attention has been drawn to the fact that all animal details entered on the application were correct. [18812/96]
One of the animals included in the application was found to be ineligible. The local livestock office imposed a penalty and the herdowners appealed this decision. The evidence put forward by the herdowners in support of their appeal requires detailed examination. This is now being done.
The herdowners will be notified of the outcome of the appeal as soon as their case has been fully examined by the headage and premia appeals unit.
