Ceist:127 Mr. E. Ryan asked the Minister for Education the reason a person (details supplied) in Dublin will not receive a third level grant; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [18802/96]

The student in question does not meet the criteria to enable her to be assessed as a mature student. She was not 23 years of age on 1 January 1994 the year in which she entered college. She must therefore be assessed as a dependent student.
