190 Mr. Martin asked the Minister for Education if she will make a grant of £100,000 available to Monaghan vocational education committee for the purposes of bringing its administrative centre up to date and to an adequate standard. [19269/96]
An application for funding was received from County Monaghan Vocational Education Committee for the upgrading of its administrative offices. Consideration of this application must be in the context of the report of the steering group of the Commission on School Accommodation Needs on the rationalisation of the vocational education committees which I received recently. Accordingly, the proposals submitted by County Monaghan Vocational Education Committee for expenditure on office accommodation will be re-examined when final decisions on the rationalisation of vocational education committees have been taken.
