314 Mr. N. Ahern asked the Minister for Defence the current position regarding Army staff in Ordnance Survey; the current position regarding the plans to phase out Defence Forces staff; the target date, if any, which has been set; whether such staff will be offered redundancy or reintegrated into the Defence Forces; and if he will make a statement on the matter. The structure and organisation of the Corps of Engineers Company which is attached to the Ordnance Survey office is being dealt with in the context of phase 1 of the Defence Forces review implementation plan which was published in February 1996 and which covers the years 1996-97.
