79 Mr. D. Ahern asked the Minister for Finance the amount paid by his Department in relation to publicity and public relations in each of the years from 1994 to date in 1996; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [19191/96]
In 1994 my Department paid £24,848.47 to Carr Communications on foot of a contract to provide publicity and public relations services to the previous Minister. The final payment in respect of this contract, £1,197.52, was paid in 1995.
The only occasion since I became Minister for Finance on which my Department paid for publicity or public relations was in February 1995 when the then Minister of State at my Department, Deputy Hogan, engaged Bill O'Herlihy Communications at a cost of £2,900.
