Vol. 470 No. 5

Written Answers. - Garda Stations.

Tom Moffatt

Ceist:

105 Dr. Moffatt asked the Minister for Justice when she will issue contract documents for a proposed Garda barracks in Ballina, County Mayo. [19517/96]

It is proposed to build a new Garda station at Ballina as the present station is inadequate to meet the requirements of the Garda. The Office of Public Works has been requested to look for a suitable site in the area. It is not possible to say at this stage when this project might commence as it will depend on overall priorities and the availability of finance.

Michael Ahern

Ceist:

106 Mr. M. Ahern asked the Minister for Justice the plans, if any, she has for the provision of a new Garda station in Fermoy, County Cork, which is currently the headquarters of the new division; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [19524/96]

It is proposed to build a new Garda station at Fermoy as the present station is inadequate to meet the requirements of the Garda. The Office of Public Works has been requested to look for a suitable site in the area. It is not possible to say at this stage when this project will commence as it will depend on overall priorities and the availability of finance.
