Smith asked the Minister for Justice if her attention has been drawn to the serious concern of the residents of Virginia, County Cavan and the general Virginia area, regarding the number of serious crimes committed in this area in recent times; the proposals, if any, she has to strengthen the Garda resources in Virginia; if she will meet with a deputation from the local community as requested in a recent letter to her office; and if she will make a statement on the matter.
