Ceist:57 Mr. Killeen asked the Minister for Finance the plans, if any, he has to extend the closing date for the pilot resorts scheme. [18737/96]
I propose to take Questions Nos. 32 and 57 together.
The pilot renewal scheme for traditional seaside resorts commenced on 1 July 1995 for a three year period. It is in operation in 15 seaside towns around the country.
As I have said in the past, until this pilot scheme is firmly established and evaluated, it would seem inappropriate to consider either extending the scheme or designating any additional resorts.
