Before coming to the Order of Business I propose to deal with a notice of motion under Standing Order 31 from Deputy O'Donnell.
Request to Move Adjournment of Dáil under Standing Order 31.
I move that we suspend Standing Orders of the Dáil to discuss a matter of urgent public importance, namely, the release and rearrest of 15 dangerous prisoners last night and the role the Department of Justice played in the matter.
Having considered the matter fully I do not consider it to be one contemplated by the Standing Order and therefore I cannot grant leave to move the motion. As the House may be aware, this matter will be dealt with by way of statements today.
