Ceist:

245 Cecilia Keaveney asked the Minister for Education the long-term plans, if any, she has for primary school education in Moville, County Donegal; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [21527/96]

I propose to take Questions Nos. 244 and 245 together.

St. Brigid's and St. Joseph's schools in Moville, County Donegal, amalgamated in September 1996. A number of improvement works are needed at the schools. The funding for these works must be considered in the light of existing contractual commitments, and the funding to be made available for 1997. These matters are under consideration at present and I expect that the process will be completed shortly. My Department will then be in touch with the school management.

In the long-term, it is proposed to provide an extension to the existing girls' school to house the amalgamated school. This project will be considered for inclusion in a future capital programme.
