Ceist:133 Mr. Callely asked the Minister for Health the total payments made to civil servants in his Department in respect of overtime in 1995; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [21944/96]

Limerick East): Overtime was paid to 167 officers during 1995 at a total cost of £168,010. I might point out that the total pay bill in 1995 for staff employed by my Department was £9.28 million, thus the amount paid in overtime represented 1.8 per cent of the total pay costs.
