Adjournment Debate Matters.

I wish to advise the House of the following matters in respect of which notice has been given under Standing Order 21 and the name of the Member in each case: (1) Deputy de Valera — the need to outline a national policy for the personal assistants of people with disabilities; (2) Deputy Hugh Byrne — the need to address the flooding in King Street, Wexford; (3) Deputy Flood — the serious situation in relation to the inappropriate placement in hospitals of children taken into emergency care by the Eastern Health Board; (4) Deputy Joe Walsh — the failure to allocate funding to provide necessary facilities to offshore islands; (5) Deputy Seán Ryan — the future of the vegetable industry in view of the current levels of importation; (6) Deputy Lawlor — the imminent danger of a major public transport strike before Christmas and the non-compliance by semi-State bodies with agreements reached on pay increases; (7) Deputy Moffatt — the closure of Rathbane national school, Ballina, County Mayo by the Western Health Board due to an ongoing rat infestation problem; (8) Deputy Hughes — the need for the Minister for Education to respond to the withdrawal of children from Rathbane national school, County Mayo, which has been closed on the recommendation of the Western Health Board due to an ongoing rat infestation problem.

The matters raised by Deputies de Valera, Flood, Hugh Byrne and Moffatt have been selected for discussion.
