Vol. 472 No. 1

Written Answers. - Delay in Receiving Information.

Seamus Brennan

Ceist:

149 Mr. S. Brennan asked the Minister for Health when he will provide the information sought in Parliamentary Question No. 167 of 25 September 1996, the reply to which indicated that the Minister of State was having the matter investigated by the Eastern Health Board and that he would communicate further as soon as possible; the reason a full reply has not been received almost eight weeks after the original question; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [22596/96]

As outlined to the Deputy in my reply to Parliamentary Question No. 167 on 25 September, information on this case raised by the Deputy was sought from the Eastern Health Board. The matter was also discussed directly with the agency involved in the provision of services to the individual concerned to ascertain whether anything further could be done to assist her. The reply to the Deputy was on its way to him when his further question was received. I have had the reply amended to take account of today's question and am sending it to him under separate cover.

I apoligise to the Deputy for the delay in forwarding the reply to him.
