187 Ms Shortall asked the Minister for Education if she will give immediate approval in respect of funding for the appointment of an interpreter for a person (details supplied) in Dublin 9 who is attending a post-leaving certificate course in view of the fact that this service is essential to her continuing education. 188 Mr. D. McDowell asked the Minister for Education if she will have arrangements made for the facilities of an interpreter to be provided to a deaf young person (details supplied) who is currently attending Ballyfermot senior college, Dublin 10. [23247/96]
I propose to take Questions Nos. 187 and 188 together.
I have recently received a report and recommendation on the education needs of this student. This report is being considered and I will advise the Deputies of the outcome in the near future.
