207 Mr. N. Ahern asked the Minister for Education her views on the request for a one-off grant to service providers of child care facilities in view of the new regulations on preschool services which will greatly increase the cost for service providers. [23351/96]
My Department's responsibility in the preschool area is limited to its involvement in the delivery of the early start preschool programme and traveller preschools. The general legislative provisions relating to preschool services are contained in the 1991 Child Care Act, which is the responsibility of my colleague, the Minister for Health.
