59 Mr. Gregory asked the Minister for Finance if derelict land located next to Army General Headquarters, Infirmary Road, Dublin 7, with access from Montpelier Hill, Dublin 7, is in the ownership of his Department; if so, if it will be thoroughly cleared in view of the fact that it constitutes a health hazard; and the plans, if any, there are for its redevelopment. The vacant property located on the east side of the Infirmary Road and north of Montpelier Hill is vested in the Minister for Finance and is in the care of the Commissioners of Public Works.
The Commissioners have received no complaints about the condition of the vacant property but have arranged for an inspection of the site and a clean-up will be arranged if that is considered necessary.
The site adjoins other State-owned property which is expected to be vacated next year. No decision has been taken at this stage whether to dispose of the property or to retain it for State purposes.
