Vol. 472 No. 4

Written Answers. - Schools Building Projects.

Ray Burke

Ceist:

111 Mr. R. Burke asked the Minister for Education the reason St. Joseph's secondary school, Rush, County Dublin, has not received a reply to its letter of 11 April 1995, which accompanied the application form ST1 for the building for extra accommodation at St. Joseph's; if she will immediately sanction three extra semipermanent classrooms and office accommodation to be put in place for the 1997/1998 school year; if her attention has been drawn to the fact that the hall which was referred to in the April 1995 letter is no longer suitable or safe for general use; and if she will sanction the school's application for funding for a replacement hall. [23407/96]

An application for grant-assistance for the provision of additional accommodation at St. Joseph's Secondary School, Rush, County Dublin has been submitted to my Department.

The school authority has been offered a schedule of accommodation which my Department expects will meet the accommodation needs of the school.

Architectural planning of the project can be initiated once the schedule of accommodation has been agreed.
