Vol. 472 No. 6

Written Answers. - Schools Building Projects.

Noel Dempsey

Ceist:

123 Mr. Dempsey asked the Minister for Education the length of time it will take for technical staff in her Department to review the feasibility study in relation to St. Michael's diocesan school, Trim, County Meath. [23707/96]

My Department has completed its examination of the feasibility study in relation to St. Michael's Diocesan School, Trim, County Meath. Consequently, it has now been decided to proceed with the development of the new community school on this site.

Arrangements for the purchase and transfer of the site to the ownership of the Department of Education will be put in train, and the appointment of a design team to undertake the architectural planning will be made shortly.

At this stage, it is not possible to say when construction will commence on site. However, now that the decision has been taken on the location, every effort will be made to advance the project as quickly as possible.
