77 Mr. Callely asked the Minister for Equality and Law Reform his usage of air transport for foreign and internal flights in 1996; the passengers who travelled with him on each flight; and the related costs in this regard. [23734/96]
To date in 1996, I have taken ten flights outside the State and two flights within the State at a total cost to my Department of £16,279.35. The net cost is £14,512.35 when regard is had to a refund made by the Council of the European Union of costs associated with travel. No direct costs were incurred by my Department on those occasions when Government aircraft was used. All flights were of a return nature except for a one way flight which I took on 18 November 1996 from Cork to Dublin. The precise details sought in relation to these flights, including the composition of the official party on each occasion, are set out in a tabular statement which I propose to have circulated in the Official Report.
