Vol. 472 No. 8

Written Answers. - Iris Oifigiúil.

John O'Donoghue

Ceist:

43 Mr. O'Donoghue asked the Minister for Finance the current procedures in relation to the placing of notices in Iris Oifigiúil; the person who gives authorisation for the placing of such notices; and the procedures followed by his Department once notices appear in Iris Oifigiúil. [21767/96]

The Stationery Office, now incorporated in the Government Supplies Agency part of the Office of Public Works, arranges for the printing and publication of Iris Oifigiúil. It is published every Tuesday and Friday. Iris Oifigiúil consists of a conglomeration of notices sent to the Stationery Office for publication. Most of these notices appear at the request of Government Departments and offices. The balance consists mainly of bankruptcy notices, notices under the Companies Acts, notices of charitable bequests, statutory notices to creditors, and notices of dissolution of partnerships. Notices for insertion in Irish Oifigiúil should be addressed to The Controller, Stationery Office, 4-5 Harcourt Road, Dublin 2 and are published in the next available issue. If a notice is required to be published in a particular issue it must reach the Stationery Office not later than 2 p.m. on the day preceding publication.

The Stationery Office accepts for publication all notices which are required by statute to be published in Iris Oifigiúil. It is a matter for individual Government Departments and offices what procedures they have for placing notices in Iris Oifigiúil, or for any action which may be required following publication. Iris Oifigiúil is available at £3.75 per copy from the Government publications sales office at Molesworth Street, Dublin 2. A yearly subscription costs £400. Copies may be ordered by mail order from Government Publications, Harcourt Road, Dublin 2.
