251 Mr. Callely asked the Minister for Education the total amount of national lottery moneys received to date by her Department; if she will give details of the allocation of such moneys to projects; if there are any commitments in regard to future disbursement of such funds; and if she will make a statement on the matter. The following table summarises the national lottery funding received by my Department from 1987 to 1996:

The funding was distributed annually over the broad headings under which national lottery funds are allocated. These are, Irish language, arts and culture, youth and sport. Details of specific projects grant aided by my Department from national lottery funds are published annually in the Appropriation Accounts. The projected disbursement of national lottery funds by my Department in 1997 is outlined by subhead in the Abridged Book of Estimates which was published on 9 December 1996.

The amount of time required to provide full details of all projects which have been funded since 1987 would be inordinate. I would be glad, however, to provide full details of any project in which the Deputy has a particular interest.
