Vol. 473 No. 2

Written Answers. - School Building Projects.

John O'Donoghue

Ceist:

81 Mr. O'Donoghue asked the Minister for Education the current position regarding the Kenmare second level community school project; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [24874/96]

The proposed community school in Kenmare is being developed in two phases. Phase one of the development has been constructed as an alliance type system buildings. A new basketball court has been built and part of the community hall was refurbished.

The architectural planning for phase two has been completed and the sports hall being planned is the standard provision for a school of this size. However, the design of the hall is such as to allow for it to be easily extended in the future.

Arrangements will be made for the invitation of tenders in the near future.
