86 Mr. B. Smith asked the Minister for Education if she will list the projects approved for grant assistance in 1996 under her Department's major facilities scheme; the level of funding approved for each project; the funding which will be provided for this scheme in 1997; and if she will make a statement on the matter. I would refer the Deputy to my reply to Parliamentary Question No. 101 of 31 October 1996 in which I listed the projects approved for grant assistance in 1996 under my Department's major facilities scheme together with the grant amounts for each project.

Since the date of my reply three further projects have been assisted under this scheme as follows:

Kilkenny	Nowlan Park GAA Grounds	100,000
Meath	Duleek Football Club	30,000

An amount of £3.5 million has been provided in the Estimates for 1997 to meet existing commitments and I also expect to be in a position to increase the value of commitments under the scheme in 1997 but the amount has not yet been decided.
