119 Mr. J. Walsh asked the Minister for Transport, Energy and Communications whether he has received an offer from unions in Telecom Éireann to purchase equity shareholdings in the company; and if so, his initial response to this offer. [24864/96]

I have received proposals for an employee share ownership plan from the unions in Telecom Éireann. At present these proposals are being examined by my Department, the Department of Finance and the company. I will be in contact with the unions in due course.
