267 Mr. Penrose asked the Minister for the Environment the amount of money allocated to Westmeath County Council for road construction and improvements to regional and county roads; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [1444/97]

Non-national road grants are not sub-divided on the basis set out in the question. The total non-national road grants allocation to Westmeath County Council this year amounts to £3,656,000 which is an increase of 48 per cent on the 1996 figure.
