282 Mr. Hyland asked the Minister for the Environment if he will provide funding to the Portarlington swimming pool committee for the upgrading and re-roofing of a swimming pool which serves a wide catchment area in counties Laois and Offaly; and if he will make a statement on the matter. A proposal for re-roofing the Portarlington swimming pool was submitted to my Department by Laois County Council in December 1996 and is currently under examination. The question of funding does not arise at this stage.
