Vol. 473 No. 4

Written Answers. - School Transport.

Ned O'Keeffe

Ceist:

367 Mr. E. O'Keeffe asked the Minister for Education if a person (details supplied) in County Cork is entitled to concessionary transport to her college. [1496/97]

Concessionary transport may be only allowed in the case of pupils who are eligible for transport in their own catchment area, but who wish to attend school in another catchment area.

The pupil to whom the Deputy refers lives less than three miles from her post-primary centre and is therefore ineligible for school transport.

Therefore, it is not open to my Department to sanction concessionary transport for the pupil in question.
