73 Cecilia Keaveney asked the Minister for Education the current position in relation to funding for the essential repairs that were needed in the newly amalgamated national schools in Moville since September 1996; whether this work will be carried out in 1997; and if she will make a statement on the matter. My Department approved the provision of a double prefab unit in December 1996 to alleviate the accommodation difficulties at the newly amalgamated schools in Moville. An architect from my Department visited the site recently, and planning for this work has been initiated.
I am currently considering a number of projects, including the request for essential repairs at Moville, for funding in the 1997 building programme. A decision in the matter will be taken shortly and a decision will be communicated to the school management.
