Written Answers. - Duty Free Sales.
I am aware of the impact of the abolition of intra-Community duty free sales on the three State airports, including Cork.
Aer Rianta, which has responsibility for the management and operation of the State airports on my behalf, is actively pursuing a range of activities to mitigate the loss of revenue in the event that efforts to retain duty free are unsuccessful. This includes looking at new activities at the three airports, including Cork airport, and examining opportunities overseas to provide additional revenue to the company.
