Noel Dempsey

Ceist:

111 Mr. Dempsey asked the Minister for the Environment if funding has been provided by him to any animal welfare group during the course of the current Government; if so, the amount granted; when it was paid; and to whom it was paid. [2475/97]

My Department paid sums of £23,265 and £24,097 in 1995 and 1996 respectively to the Irish Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals for the maintenance of a national guard dog register under Article 6 of the Control of Dogs Act, 1986 (Guard Dogs) Regulations, 1988.
