Ceist:124 Mr. Nolan asked the Minister for Education if she will outline the teachers centres under whose auspices courses are conducted in Carlow. [2430/97]
Written Answers. - Education Centres.
In respect of some national in-service programmes such as leaving certificate phase 1 and relationships and sexuality education, my Department devolves the administration and planning arrangements to the full-time education centre network. Laois education centre has responsibility for such courses in Laois, Carlow, Offaly, Westmeath and parts of Kildare, Kilkenny and North Tipperary.
In addition, in respect of local in-service initiatives, the Carlow study group provides a range of courses, with the aid of funding from my Department. Teachers in the Carlow area may also avail of in-service courses which are provided by the Laois and Waterford education centres.
