Vol. 475 No. 5

Written Answers - Water and Sewerage Schemes.

Michael Finucane

Ceist:

135 Mr. Finucane asked the Minister for the Environment if he has received an application for a small group sewage scheme (details supplied) in County Limerick. [5372/97]

As already announced, responsibility for the administration of the group schemes programmes is being devolved to the local authorities, subject to existing commitments on foot of approvals issued by my Department. Where the schemes have not yet been approved, including the Mountmahon scheme, it will in future be a matter for the relevant local authority to decide on grant applications

Ceist:

136 Mr. Finucane asked the Minister for the Environment if he has received a report regarding a defective water system (details supplied) in County Limerick; and the remedial action, if any, which will be taken to rectify the problem. [5373/97]

A report on the Shannon Estuary water supply scheme outlining, inter alia, problems with the rising main at Foynes, was received in my Department on 20 February last. The report is being examined at present and a reply will issue as soon as possible.
